Originally from Sweden, Oscar Brekell is one of few foreigners with a Japanese Tea Instructor certificate and was also the first to obtain a diploma for making hand-rolled sencha.
With years of experience and lectures on tea in more than 15 countries, Oscar is known in Japan as the “blue-eyed tea evangelist” and has been featured in various Japanese media since many years back.
With the focus on leaf tea, Oscar keeps surprising Japanese and foreigners alike with the great variation of tastes and flavors that Japanese tea has to offer.
During our sessions, he will introduce a multitude of brewing techniques from simple to advanced, and guide you through the intriguing field of single-origin green tea.
Oscar will also share his story, and his experiences as a foreign-born tea specialist working in Japan.
This event will be perfect for anyone curious about green tea in general, but also for those who have discovered matcha and want to venture further into the multifaceted world of Japanese tea.
